Amanyara
OverviewFrom its secluded white-sand beach and unusual ironshore rocky coves, to the abundant marine life of its pristine reef walls, Amanyara embraces Northwest Point Marine National Park, an acclaimed area of 1,686 hectares (4,168 acres) that provides some of the world's best wall and reef diving. Entry to the resort is through a large reception pavilion that opens onto a central reflecting pond. Surrounded by mahogany trees, the pond is framed on one side by the Library and Boutique and on the other side by the Restaurant and Bar. The circular Bar offers a dramatic soaring roof and sea views fronted by the 50-metre (164-foot) main swimming pool and sun deck. All accommodations are identical in layout and design yet differentiated by location. Arrival to a pavilion is via an entrance terrace that houses two daybeds. Sliding glass doors open to reveal the room's interior featuring a central king-size bed behind which sits a writing desk and chair. Beyond is a cabinet containing a personal bar with refreshments. Positioned in the corners of the room are a reading chair with a footstool and an entertainment unit including a flat screen television and DVD/CD player with surround sound. This combined bedroom and living room also opens onto two additional terraces, the first with twin banquettes for lounging or dining and the second featuring a sunken table with cushions, bolsters and two sunning mats. An overhanging roofline creates shaded outdoor areas on each pavilion's three terraces, and sliding glass doors open to catch the cooling sea breezes. The bathroom area is separated from the main room by a decorative wooden screen and features an elegant, free-standing bathtub with adjacent ottoman. Twin vanities are located on either end along with a separate 'rain shower' room and a toilet. Leading off from the bathroom is a dressing area, storage space and personal safe. The pavilions incorporate a simple palette of colours and materials, and the floor is polished, sand-coloured terrazzo with teak inlays. Sisal matting is used throughout. Amanyara is located on the coast of Northwest Point adjacent to Malcolm's Beach on the island of Providenciales. The island is one of the Turks and Caicos Islands, part of the British West Indies. Comprised of just eight islands and 41 small cays, of which only eight are inhabited, the territory is some 925 kilometres (575 miles) southeast of Miami and 160 kilometres (100 miles) north of the Dominican Republic, lying just outside the Caribbean Sea in the Atlantic Ocean. The Turks and Caicos benefit from the cooling effects of trade winds from the Southeast Equatorial Current. The islands boast a subtropical climate, similar to that of the Bahamas, though slightly warmer and drier. The dry season generally runs from November to May with scattered showers from June to October. During the cooler months from December through March, the average daily high temperature is approximately 26°C (80°F) which coincides with the peak season. The hotter months are June through October, when the daily average high is 32°C (90°F). Awards:

Testimonials from my clients
Here's what some of my past clients have said:
"All I can say is WOW and thank you to Laura from Change of Latitude Travel.
I had no idea where to go and she had wonderful suggestions for me being very attentive to what I wanted. My vacation was superb with all of the tips from her. The resort itself was exceptionally beautiful and the entertainment every night was fantastic.
Laura told me that if I took lessons on the paddle boards and the catamaran the very first day that I was there that I could use them whenever I wanted (as long as they were available) the whole time that I was there.
She also told me that around lunch time there would be carts around the resort that would have something special everyday so that if you wanted to hang by the pool or by the beach and not get out of your bathing suit, you could try Jamaican Heritage food. Thank you for the Great advise. I really enjoyed the jerk chicken (with no extra spices) and the coconut juice (milk).
I know from now on I am not going to try to use the internet and go strictly to her for all of my travel wants and needs!

"I was greatly pleased with Laura's quality of service. She listened to our requests and requirements and recommended great destination wedding resorts for us to choose from. She organized all the travel and lodging in Mexico for 35 of our guests. Laura was very flexible with individual guest requests, and got a great rates for my guests. She played the liaison between myself and the wedding coordinator at the resort. This lead to a quite effortless, seamless process. I was also very impressed with how she continued to support my guests through their travel to, and during their stay in Mexico. I would highly recommend working with Laura she is very professional and personable. She made the entire experience very easy, which is key when planning a destination wedding!"

"A Change of Latitude took care of our every need for our destination wedding and honeymoon. We took our time interviewing travel agents and after meeting Laura we knew we found the perfect person to help us...she help us choose the destination (Jamaica), the resort (Sandals White House), and connected us with an awesome wedding planner, after all of that, she made sure we and all of our guests got VIP treatment during our weeks stay. I would recommend A Change of Latitude HIGHLY if you want personalized service and treatment from the beginning to end."
