Cambridge Beaches Resort & Spa
OverviewOn the western end of Bermuda, looking out over Long Bay Beach and the Atlantic Ocean on one side and picturesque Mangrove Bay on the other—is the 30-acre peninsula on which Cambridge Beaches resides. Featuring 94 cottage style rooms and suites, each with its own unique name and décor, the property is surrounded by private beaches and coves, perfect for sun-bathing, swimming and snorkeling, and offers a private marina for your pleasure. The Latin inscription on our coat of arms translates to "First and Best." As for the first, we are in fact the island's first cottage colony with one cottage almost 300 years old. And if you're looking for seclusion, tranquility and relaxed refinement, then we are certainly the best. The resort has been recognized as one of the oldest resorts of its kind anywhere, a forerunner of the cottage-style accommodations that are so popular today. Through the years many distinguished travelers have been drawn to the area's exceptional shores and discrete service, from dignitaries to authors, entrepreneurs to privateers. While some cottages at Cambridge Beaches have been named after cherished return guests, in turn many children and companies have also been named after cottages. Nearly surrounded by the sea, Cambridge Beaches offers something for every shore lover. From gentle, shallow bays to soft sands made for hand-in-hand strolls. Paddle a kayak or simply stretch out and enjoy the sun. From the deepest blue water to tranquil places and quiet moments, Cambridge Beaches has it all. And unlike many resorts that are centered around one main beach, Cambridge Beaches has four. Half-mile Long Bay Beach is a beautiful secluded beach ideal for morning yoga or a romantic picnic, with a long stretch of white sand. An adjacent Nature Reserve is an important wetland habitat for resident waterfowl, such as moorhens, and migratory birds. Other choices include Morning Beach—with new pools, waterfall, and a restaurant, as well as Turtle Cove Beach and Pegem Beach. Bermuda is ideal for a quick vacation escape, just about an hour and a half flight from most eastern US airports and under seven from London. Bermudian friendliness will pervade your entire stay – Bermudians are justifiably proud of their island and natural hosts. Everywhere you go, you will find smiling Bermudians offering to help. Compared to most places in the world, this is an incredibly safe island. You can feel perfectly safe walking almost everywhere. You won't be bothered by people trying to sell you things, you'll be left alone on the beach and you can wander the main town of Hamilton and see the standard of shopping you would expect in many very highbrow destinations. If you see a mosquito, call someone because they are virtually an extinct species. Bermuda has one of the highest per capita incomes in the world and it shows. Roads are good, telephones work and things happen when they are scheduled to. It is also one of the cleanest. You might imagine it as a tiny representation of the UK, with wonderful western overtones, all in an ambiance of balmy breezes and magnificent choices for dining and playing. You have to try snorkeling in Bermuda, as well as deep-sea fishing, bonefish casting and scuba diving. Or just take a sailboat and gently sail away a day. |
Testimonials from my clients
Here's what some of my past clients have said:
"All I can say is WOW and thank you to Laura from Change of Latitude Travel.
I had no idea where to go and she had wonderful suggestions for me being very attentive to what I wanted. My vacation was superb with all of the tips from her. The resort itself was exceptionally beautiful and the entertainment every night was fantastic.
Laura told me that if I took lessons on the paddle boards and the catamaran the very first day that I was there that I could use them whenever I wanted (as long as they were available) the whole time that I was there.
She also told me that around lunch time there would be carts around the resort that would have something special everyday so that if you wanted to hang by the pool or by the beach and not get out of your bathing suit, you could try Jamaican Heritage food. Thank you for the Great advise. I really enjoyed the jerk chicken (with no extra spices) and the coconut juice (milk).
I know from now on I am not going to try to use the internet and go strictly to her for all of my travel wants and needs!

"I was greatly pleased with Laura's quality of service. She listened to our requests and requirements and recommended great destination wedding resorts for us to choose from. She organized all the travel and lodging in Mexico for 35 of our guests. Laura was very flexible with individual guest requests, and got a great rates for my guests. She played the liaison between myself and the wedding coordinator at the resort. This lead to a quite effortless, seamless process. I was also very impressed with how she continued to support my guests through their travel to, and during their stay in Mexico. I would highly recommend working with Laura she is very professional and personable. She made the entire experience very easy, which is key when planning a destination wedding!"

"A Change of Latitude took care of our every need for our destination wedding and honeymoon. We took our time interviewing travel agents and after meeting Laura we knew we found the perfect person to help us...she help us choose the destination (Jamaica), the resort (Sandals White House), and connected us with an awesome wedding planner, after all of that, she made sure we and all of our guests got VIP treatment during our weeks stay. I would recommend A Change of Latitude HIGHLY if you want personalized service and treatment from the beginning to end."
