Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center
OverviewAWCC is a nonprofit organization dedicated to preserving Alaska's wildlife through public education. AWCC takes in injured and orphaned animals year-round and provides spacious enclosures and quality animal care. Animals that cannot be released into the wild are given a permanent home at the center. Follow AK Route 1 (The Seward Highway) South for about 47 miles, past Girdwood, and just before the Portage Glacier road turnoff, we will be on your right! Our animals at the Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center are our greatest ambassadors! Most of the animals that have come to AWCC were either orphaned or injured. With consent from the Alaska Department of Fish and Game, animals are taken in, treated and rehabilitated. Depending on their individual case and condition, they may be released back into the wild, transferred to another facility, or given a permanent home at the Center. By adopting an animal at the Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center, you can enjoy animal parenthood without all the work. Our professional staff will provide the special diet, environment and veterinary care that your animal requires. You will have the satisfaction of knowing that you are helping to support your selected animal at the Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center. |
