Fox and Franz Josef Heliservices are based in both Fox and Franz Josef. Our modern fleet of turbine helicopters can whisk you away for a magical alpine experience encompassing these two world famous glaciers. Sweep over the lush sub-tropical forests of the Westland National Park as we climb to 6000' before landing on the snow. Mountain enthusiasts will also enjoy our scenic flights incorporating Mount Cook and Mount Tasman.
We are proud to be the only 100% locally owned and operated helicopter company licensed to land at all designated landing sites within the Westland National Park.
Important Customer Information: * Prices valid to 30 Sept 2011 * All prices are in New Zealand currency, include GST (Government Sales Tax) and are subject to change without prior notice. * Children aged 12 years or younger fly for half price. * Children aged 3 years or younger fly for free sitting on adult's lap. * All standard flights include a snow landing, subject to weather conditions and at pilot's discretion. * Flight duration's are an approximate only and may change at any time subject to weather conditions and at pilot's discretion. * Minimum number of adult fares per flight apply. * Credit Card details are required to secure a flight booking, however customers will not be charged should your flight be canceled due to weather conditions.
Essential Wear for Snow Landings * Sunglasses * Covered shoes (sneakers or trainers are fine) or your hiking boots * Plenty of film (or memory cards) for your camera * Clothing - Wear comfortable outdoor clothing suitable for wearing on the snow. Occasionally the temperate can be 5-10 degrees cooler on the snow than it is in the village. Check with our ground-crew if you are unsure of what to wear
Check In Time Please check in 15 - 20 minutes before your scheduled departure time. This allows time for payment processing and aircraft allocation. If you are part of a large group (10 people or more), then you will need to check in 25 minutes prior to departure.

Overview
Alpine Adventures commenced helicopter tourist flights as Fox Glacier Helicopter Services in the early 1980's. From these humble beginnings with only 1 helicopter, our dedication to customer satisfaction and aircraft safety has seen Alpine Adventures grow into a highly respected flight charter and tourism company boasting an impressive fleet of 11 modern turbine helicopters.
Due to the current size of our helicopter charter service we now have the ability to easily and quickly relocate aircraft between Fox Glacier, Franz Josef and Lake Tekapo as demand requires.
Alpine Adventures is proud to have a team of extremely experienced professional pilots and ground crew dedicated to aircraft safety and customer service. Currently employing 9 pilots and up to 17 ground crew, office staff and management, each of our pilot's has been specifically chosen and trained by the company's Managing Director, James Scott, who has over 30 years of experience operating helicopters.
Each ground crew member is also fully trained to a high standard of customer service, including an in-depth knowledge of all operational safety procedures.
We have Civil Aviation Authority of New Zealand approval to trades as Alpine Adventures, Fox Glacier Heliservices, Franz Josef Heliservices, Tekapo Helicopters and Kaikoura Helicopters under the provisions of Civil Aviation Rule Part 119 to perform air operations, etc.
Alpine Adventures is also a member of the Aviation Industry Assoc, Mt Cook & Westland National Parks User Aviation Group and Civil Aviation Authority - Air Certification No AS 38272.
Alpine Adventures also owns and operates the popular Cook Saddle Café and Saloon in the Fox Glacier township. The café is located opposite our Fox Glacier flight office and is open daily from 11.00am till late for lunch, snacks and evening meals. Customers can also enjoy full bar facilities and the café caters to independent travelers, locals and organized coach tours.
