Itinerary

Welcome to Sydney, one of the most vibrant and panoramic cities in the world. For your first day in Sydney let one of Australia's leading tour companies; Australian Wild Escapes show you the best the city has to offer.

Your tour today will start in your hotel lobby where your friendly guide will meet you before showing you through the historic Rocks precinct. Witness the birth place of Sydney and explore the convict built cottages, pubs and the first church in Australia. Climb Observatory Hill for views of Anzac Bridge and Darling Harbour. Next we cross the magnificent Sydney Harbour Bridge, one of Australia's most recognised landmarks. Travel through the leafy northern suburbs before arriving at Manly, a beautiful seaside town. Here your guide will continue up to North Head for unrivalled views of the Harbour and CBD. Take a secluded walk along the rugged sandstone cliffs; it will take your breath away.

Reboarding your vehicle we turn south and make our way to the stunning botanical gardens situated right in the heart of Sydney. En route we pass through Macquarie Street, named after the first Governor of Sydney, Lachlan Macquarie. Here you will see Australia's first Parliament House, Mint, Hyde Park Barracks and St Mary's Cathedral.

Lunch today is a special treat. Situated in the magnificent botanical gardens, the Botanical Gardens Pavilion offers splendid views and splendid food. Sit back and immerse yourself in your unique surroundings.

After lunch, your tour continues down to Mrs Macquarie's chair, situated on the water's edge. Continue through Woolloomooloo, Kings Cross and onto Darling Point, one of Sydney's most affluent suburbs and see some of Sydney's most sought after addresses. Continuing on we pass by Double Bay, Rose Bay, Vaucluse and Watsons Bay, before traversing along the coastline to Sydney's most famous beach, Bondi. Here you will have some time to soak up the atmosphere of the beachside mecca. Stroll down the esplanade with the locals and maybe enjoy an ice cream before reboarding your vehicle.

We make our way back to Sydney via the vibrant Oxford Street and the suburb of Paddington. Admire this boutique shopping precinct and the charming Georgian and Victorian architecture of the homes.

Arriving back at your hotel you will have enjoyed a great day out seeing some of Sydney's best kept secrets as well as her best known icons. Welcome and enjoy your stay.

Overview

Home to the world famous Sydney Opera House and the Sydney Harbour Bridge, Sydney is Australia's largest and most dynamic city. Boasting great surf beaches, a vibrant restaurant scene and easy access to the beautiful Blue Mountains, Sydney has something for everyone.

The historical "Rocks" precinct is the birthplace of the Nation. A great way to explore Sydney is on foot. And the Rocks provides the perfect place to do this. Unlock Sydney's fascinating past and see convict built dwellings. Of course no visit to Sydney is complete without a visit to Bondi Beach. One of Sydney's most recognisable destinations, Bondi oozes charm. The Eastern Suburbs feature some of Sydney's finest real estate. The suburbs of Darling Point, Double Bay and Watsons Bay are absolutely stunning.

While in Sydney you may be in the mood for tasting wine. Just north of Sydney are the world class wineries of the Hunter Valley. To the South of Sydney you will find the Southern Highlands. Stunning forests that are rich with wildlife. Or for those wanting a sublime experience, Wolgan Valley Resort and Spa is a picturesque 3 hour drive West from Sydney in some of New South Wales most beautiful surrounds
