Overview

This tour does justice to a wonderful island full of culture and major natural attractions.

This personalized tour along the western coastline of St. Lucia is a great introduction to a destination you'll want to return to again and again.

Your driver/guide will be as excited to see you as you are to find him. He has designed a memorable day that begins with a view of Castries, the busy town of your arrival. A scenic stop allows you to take photos of your cruise ship, surrounded by a dramatic green and blue backdrop.

Heading south along the coast, we'll weave in and out of huge growing fields of bananas and coconut palms. Steep hills and sharp turns make this a spectacular ride as we pass through quaint fishing villages en route to Marigot Bay. One of the prettiest natural harbors in the Caribbean, Marigot Bay is famous for the expensive yachts anchored here. Rather than driving by a banana plantation, we'll stop and learn a little about this fruit, its growing pattern, and how it's shipped.

Our travels will take us through the village of Anse La Raye, where it's common to see women washing clothes and bathing kids in the river. Residents will wave and smile as we pass through. Only this tour stops in Anse La Voutte, where you'll have a chance to sample locally made cassava bread.

Passing through the Canaries, we'll be greeted by fabulous views of the Piton Mountains as we descend into the old French town of Soufriere. Here, we'll visit Sulphur Springs Park, where we'll see the Caribbean's only drive-in volcano, and the amazing Diamond Falls Botanical Gardens, where tropical flowers grow in profusion.

If you choose, we'll stop for a buffet lunch at a local restaurant that serves Creole food (see purchasing information).

Marvel at the picturesque landscape and reflect on your awesome day as we head back to Castries and the cruise ship pier.
